Mine is black on the inside with 2 white stripes with red pinstripes on the sides of the deals. I bought it for the shroud that goes around the motor, it is seized currently but I may try to get it going if I have time this summer. Like the rear suspension very unique, looks like it would be a good ...

Grey or black hood

I recently bought what I thought was a 74 mark 2 hurricane, 644 50hp. It has a black hood with red and white stripes up the hood, and a weird rear suspension. There is an old snowmobile ad on EBay now that shows a 74 mark 2 having a grey hood. Which is correct or would my sled be from a different ye...

Good to know. I thought it was running way to hot so I shut it down, good thing I didn't take it to the relic run last week.

Thanks,

Scott

Then I think my hurricane is about average. I have removed 2 nests from the sled, one inside the recoil and another under the motor between the cylinders. I am missing the to motor shield the piece of tin that covers the fins. Will this affect the cooling, I know that some of the older sleds need th...

Installed the comet 100c, It works very well the springs must be very close to original. It is pretty snappy off the line but doesnt have a great top end, broke the speedo cable so don't have a true top speed. The only problem is the motor is heating up more than I would like.

Well a rebuild is out of the question as the clutch started to spit pieces when it was last run. But a friend said he might have one in storage.

What will happen if the springs are not cut for a merc 644. Can this cause damage to the sled or will it just affect the performance of the sled?

644 clutch

Got my 72' hurricane going but the primary clutch is pretty beat up and I dont think it will make the winter. Does any one have a good used primary clutch for sale? Was this clutch used on any other sleds or do I have to find anouther off of a hurricane?

I could use a copy for a 72 Hurricane 644 35hp. The previous owner was creative with his wiring of the sled.
