don't know about a f/a, but I seen a '76 s/t l/c at a radar run, in a 1000' he did 107mph!!! made a lot of money betting on him!!, and yes, I have a '76 340 t/t and it does 83 with me on @ 220lbs! this 440 l/c, pulls the skis almost 16" in the air for a good 90' too! one rockin' little unit!!, ...

I know of a '76 440 L/C near here, used to be a factory sponsored sled, apparently has the stiff rear susp, shorty alu skis, and a raft of parts, enough to make it trail worthy again.
if your interested, I can go take a peek for you..I don't have his name or number, but I do know its real and there!

got a clean 340 forsale, very good shape, fast too! all original except for windshield and seat cover. $900 obo.:)
== just changed ALL the track clips, were rusty, good now, also have new spare slides and a box full of new oem stuff, like seals and wheels, a crankcase and other goodies!

looking into a rare find, a '76 liquid factory sponsored race sled, with shorty alu skis, hard tail sus., pipes, and a raft of new oem stuff to change sled back to oem. what should a guy expect to pay for this? going this week to check it out...:);):D

yeh, I'm 2 hours from Buffalo, also trying to get a bunch of brand new oem stuff, like the blue windshield and new CDI boxes still in wrapper, 2 new sets of slides, let me know!, looked on the map, looks like about 5 hrs one way.

have 1 1976 TT forsale, a 340, runs excellent, 81 mph, track good, body good to excellent, new slides. also a box full of new and good used pieces, mostly seals, a K340-2AS block, 7" idlers, shocks, clutch weights and rollers and arms etc..$1200 cdn obo in southern ontario, 2.5 hrs from Detroit...

proper dimensions for a 57-75293 merc belt are 46" x 1.25", the discontinued gates # is a 6124, the goodyear # is a 71159, the merc manual says if at all, shorter is better, so the folks at gates suggested using a gates 6303, which is 46.25" long, not 46 5/8" like the dayco 2000!...
