49 1/2 X 1 3/8 is what my nos vintage belt measures (edited for content by moderator). As for removal and set-up, start by loosening the slide bolts in the tracks under motor mounts and slide the motor forward a little then rotate the inside sheave on your secondary(large sheaves) in a clockwise mot...

Got your e-mail about clutch, did you try and squirt a little grease into the fitting and then manually work it. These clutches are smooth enguagers and there could just be a dry grease buildup on the splines. If you cant free it I'd remove the outer sheave assembly for inspection. Clean the splines,...

Dave, give it hell. 100.00 is cheap in my estimation for any complete sled. Buy it , run it , enjoy it , maybe youll become a merc head.I own several brands and have a ball with them all. good luck!

Check your wiring to diagram, make sure all grounds are good , and remember , these old machines dont put out mega watts and wont reach their output till higher rpm. Most of my oldies run dim at idle.Still I think your wiring needs attention.

Im thinkin that because this sled didnt see all that much use and hasnt been run in MANYyears, i figure someone was using the old EITHER trick to start and she backfired. ...

First noticed most wire insulation is crumbling bad, am in process of drawing up a diagram but theres one mystery ground with the headlight switch ...
