Craig, did you get that 250 running?

Make sure there are no leaks anywhere, especially the pulse lines between the cylinders and pump. If everything is clean it should run. Maybe try priming the pump with a syringe.

I had a closer look at the owners manual and 50:1 is recommended except in extreme conditions where they recommend 25:1. I mix mine somewhere in the middle. Should be able to go on the lean side with the newer oils but I start with 30:1 and add a little gas until I've reduced the smoking to a level ...

This is interesting because the 220 I have was originally my dads and I remember him mixing it 20:1 but I bought an owners manual off ebay and it says 50:1 so now I really don't know what it should be. There is a hood assembly on ebay currently.

I have a 220 with a seat that is hinged on the right. Today I picked up a 250 but the seat seems to be permanently attached. Is it suppose to hinge like the 220? Thanks.

Thanks for the info, this will give me a place to start. If I can't find a decent original track then at least I have an option.

Can anybody tell me if a track from a Lightning or Hurricane can be used on the earlier 220/250 models. I have a 220 and a 250 that I want to restore but both need tracks. What modifications would need to be done to make this work? It seems tracks from '71/'72 are easier to find than the '69 to '71 ...
