can anyone help with some engine mods without changing the cylinder bore. trying to get my stepdads merc race ready for ice drags. you can send a persanal message so you dont give out more info than you need to. may try some porting. any help would be grateful

the stock merc belt # is D5763353 . i looked in the dennis kirk catolog and they have a belt . its a daycomax2 part # 1071M2. this belt measures 1 1/4 x 44 5/8 . start with this, it may be you have the wrong belt on. if not your right its in the secondary clutch. its shiften way to fast. or your spr...

my stepdad bought a 76 440 trail in mint cond for $ 950 all original cond. the guy bought it from a neighbor then decided he didnt want it anymore. the 440 are not that hard to find, and repo hoods and decals are fairly inexpensive. i just dont understand why some people think there sleds are worth ...

the service manual from merc says 21 degress @ 3000rpm. cant help with the wiring diagram.

buck, the snowtwister parts manual stats the bore on a 644cc is 3.125 or 79.38mm and the stroke is 2.56 or 65.02mm.

some joker on flebay seems to think his 440 trailtwister is worth $3300. maybe he thinks its a liguid merc. that sled is worth $1000-$1200 tops. good luck to him. wait i think i see gold colored sparkplugs, well then maybe it is worth $3300.

D A Z a 1975 merc would be the free-air. from what i seen in the past, a used-condition freeair 440 would bring about $1200. now ad to that a new hood and bellypan and decals a new seat cover, you would be around $1800 to $2000. so i would say for a mint 440 merc would be around $2000 to $2200, mayb...

merc-eric I believe he is getting $120 to $140 for the one piece bellypan. also were the spindle stubs go through the bellypan are marked so you now were to drill the holes, same for the hood mnts

these are the 1 piece . pans not the 2 piece image has. lee has hoods decals also. very pleasent to deal with.
