No, I have put them on two Sno Scoots. They will work.

Better yet, get a used pair of 97-2000, plastic yamaha skis. You will need new ski (saddle) bushing adapters made, two for each ski. I can send you dimensions if you need. With these skis on the scoots they steer a whole lot easier for the kids.

To make it not go so fast? Take a 1/4" thick block of wood and tie wrap it on handle bar under throttle lever, so lever will not go wide open.
