Hello merc fans it is hard to belive nobody knows how to remove a 250e clutch but I had no replies.
Here is a guide for removal
First remove the locknut on the clutch it requires a 3/4 socket.
"Right hand thread"
Second remove the grease fitting out of the stub shaft 5/16 socket.
Third obtain a small block chevy harmonic balancer puller that is made in the U.S.A.!!!!
use the puller along with the proper length 1/4-20 bolts to remove the outer clutch half. Once removed you can clean and inspect.
Fourth you will need to find a 1/2-20 nut so you can double nut the stub shaft the other nut is the one you already removed once doubled the shaft will turn out "Right hand Thread"
Fifth find a standard puller with a 5/8-18 thread and about a 4" nose
Have fun Bill
