Got a 73 MKI that runs. Engine seems to be in good shape. Just going to use in the back 40 for tooling around. What do I need to watch for? Will it overheat under normal conditions? I want to take the best care of it. Any info would be great. Like to keep it nice.

How reliable is my Hurricane?
reliability
The biggest problems I have seen with the Hurricanes is the wiring. The old braided harnesses like to fall apart and short out. The second biggest problem would be the engine. If well maintained and operated, it should not give too much trouble. You want to remove the shrouds at the beginning of each season to get the mouse nest out of the cylinder fins, and make sure the crank seals are good and the carb is kept clean. Pistons are pretty much non-existant for this engine, so you really don`t want to burn it down.
