250ER clutch

I'm asking about the clutch on a 250ER because my friend has one and is trying to get the sled movin' but he's having problems with the clutch so if you can help me please talk. More info about it is it's a '71 Mercury 250ER i think it was 450cc (not sure though). Thanks!

Got your e-mail about clutch,did you try and squirt a little grease into the fitting and then manually work it. These clutches are smooth enguagers and there could just be a dry grease buildup on the splines. If you cant free it I'd remove the outer sheave assembly for inspection. Clean the splines, check the dogs (weights) for free movement and clean out all old grease. Im sure its nothing big thet a little cleaning wont fix. Let us know how u make out.
