stumped in the creek

I just bought an engine with no body. The make is a Kioritz/model-kec-440/22a, ser# 4407242. What I would like to know is if anyone can tell me what model of merc sled it came out of. I had one buddy tell me it was out of a Twister but I thought that Twisters were free airs or liquids and this one I have happens to be fan cooled. Another buddy said it could be out of a Northway but I can't see that, being it says Merc on the recoil. If anyone could help I would greatly be thankful. Ride Safe.

By the data plate....

It is probably out of a John Deere...late '70's.

Someone just slapped a Merc recoil on it as a replacement because it fit.

Mercury did not use the "22A"
