Compressio readings??

A yamaha mechanic told me that these small 2 strokes may need frequent re-boring of cylinder( every 30-40 hrs). Has anyone had any experiences with this and does anyone know what a good compression reading should be? I had trouble with one scoot last weekend and a compression test only showed 25psi. My other scoot was reading 65psi.
