Carb switch?

Post by pooner »

What does this do? The Carb switch? The one below the idle screw and has 2 wires coming off it. Thanks

It is a safety switch. Carb switch and throttle switch are called a throttle override system. It operates off of throttle switch and carb switch. At all times when throttle is closed the carb switch is open, Scoot runs. Throttle open, carb switch is closed, Scoot run. If both go open then Scoot electric shuts off. If Scoot will not start usually the carb switch is bad, you can unplug carb switch and hook harness wires (not the two carb wires) into each other and Scoot should start, BUT remember if you do this you do not have Override Safety System working. I would not run sled without having system working properly.
