sno sport ,rubber cup behind clutch

does anyone know the exact purpose of the rubber cup on the back side of the main clutch,does it effect the performance of the sport if it is not on,mine is missing,probably removed by the previos owner,should i buy a new one and put it on. thanks

it is an inspection hole plug. no plug lets alot of crap get in the drive housing.

The rubber cover is to keep out dirt, belt dust, etc. Yes the sled will run without it, but the clutch roller will get flat spots on them because of dirt, and then they will not roll up and down the ramps like they are designed to. Yes, it should be replaced.

Clutches can still be bought new from the dealer they are $127.99
