76 S/T Clutching

Post by Drivebelt »

I need a good set-up for a Comet 102C on a 76 S/T 250. It came with a recently rebuilt hex that just doesn't work for a little running around. Hits at about 8000 and has to be kept up there. We have had little snow and I have had no way to do any clutching so would like to hear anyone's combination to tame the sled down to a manageable level so I could possibly ride it if we do happen to get any snow. Thanks.

I would try a yellow spring with c weights in your 102c. I use a yellow spring with c weights with a milled notch for a dump weight of about 5500 rpm ingagment. 8000 is way too high for what your doing. Dave

Thanks Dave. I didn't realize anyone had responded until today, so I'm a little late with the "Thank You". I'm not positive it is 8000 because I haven't been able to get the tach to work, but it is way too high.
