s/r 340 spark?

my s/r 340 has just had the carb rebuilt and the pistons are fine. the clutch is in good condition as well. and brand new ngk irriduim spark plugs. its has no spark though. The coils are somewhat coroded and rusted. could this cause the problem?

that could very well be the cause of the problem , as well as the points and condensors could need replacing, are you sure that the ignition is not at fault here? if so try unplugging ignition and see if spark is present, if no try new coils if you can and check that the spark plug wires are fully screwed into the metal post in coil as wellas all grounds are good. did the problem happen after you installed the new plugs , did it have spark before ? ,dave
