Got a TT with the small drivers. What is the longest pick I can get away with?

Ideally, picks should be about 1/4" higher than the track lugs. You need to determine how much clearance there is between the track lugs and the tunnel. This measurement should be taken at the point the track comes closest to the tunnel. This will usually be directly above the front drive sprocket and between the sprocket and the front of the tunnel. As an example, if you determine to have a 1/2" of clearance and your lug height is a 1/2". You would be able to use picks that are 3/4" long without any problem. That being said, when using picks, you must run tunnel protectors. This keeps the picks from hitting the tunnel when the track expands from centrifugal forces during rotation due to the added weight of the picks. Also, keeping the track as tight as possible, but not interfering with rotation, will also reduce the amount of track expansion.

We have run .875 with no problems.... I was going to put on a 3/4 track (camoplast 116r) but I doubt I can run a 1 inch pick.
