Need clutching info for '76 250 Sno Twister
Good for you to get one of these great old sleds to the track.
I think you will find that an old hex clutch in good shape will be one of the easiest clutches to tune. There are a lot of combinations of weights and springs and ramps to set it up any way you can imagine. In the day, there was a lot of custom ramp grinding that were racing team's closely guarded secrets. The Hex is a great drag racing clutch as well as for oval track. You give up a few percent in efficency, but you more than make that up in tunability. IMO.

Use Comet 102C No. 212600a uncalibrated clutch. It's got a 30mm taper and
works with a 1 and 1/4" belt.

Yellow Spring No. 203473A
Remove both spring spacers
Trail Riding:

if your putting a comet on try the thunder shift adjustable weights, I put them in my xc 700 3 yrs ago an really woke that sled up, then put some in my 76 440 sntwister, I wish they had these when I was drag racing, Fett Brothers sell them,takes a little time to adjust but a lot less maintainance than the cat hex shaft, and I liked those,
