I am looking for a lighting coil and a regulator for a 1972 Mercury Hurricane 644cc. Any help very much appreciated.

HI! Hurricanes don't have seperate lighting coils , charge coils are part of the ignition stator! Voltage regulators & rectifiers started in 1973 on hurricanes! Have to go by engine serial # as 72 & 73 parts are different! ( 72 has point ign , 73 has electronic ign ! )Can you e-mail me a serial # of engine & poss pic of part(s) needed ?? Maybe i can help ?? Hi,

Just picked up a Merc 644 Hurricane Mark II sled. It is stamped as being made in 1973, engine S/N 3591772 and sled S/N 3591284. It has 65 miles. Last ran in 1987. No damage - looks great.

Unable to start. Apprears there is no spark. Also, the brake and speed handles are cracked. Any ideas?
