What zip in Michigan - I have a used front spring.

1989 Ymaha Sno Scoot - red with black seat - good track, hardly used last couple of years - kick start - track seat and plastic all in good shape. Skis are solid - no rust holes. Needs air filter. 1300.00. Located in Green Bay Wisconsin...............

if not the fuel pump it just sounds like it is running a little lean on the bottom end - turn your pilot screw out 1/4 turn at a time. if it is too lean this would run as you described - not enough fuel to get it going.

is the choke adjusted properly?

it is an inspection hole plug. no plug lets alot of crap get in the drive housing.

I believe it is to shut off the machine if the return spring on the throttle breaks. they can be a real problem. unplug it and join the connectors in the wiring harness back together to close the system. it is an un-necessary item. all of mine are unplugged and have been for a long time.

Before you do anything - remove and clean entire carb. You don't have to remove needle and seat. BUT - all 3 jets need to come out and be cleaned.
