Sport Exhaust
Put a new exhaust sealing kit on the Sport. The expansion chamber to muffler tube lasted about 3 hours. Turns out those two parts contact each other. The parts have provisions for a spring to hold the joint together. Mine did not have a spring installed to do this, and the parts diagrams do not have...

Sport Clutch
The Sport leaves a little slow when started, revs up but doesn't move right away, maybe 5 seconds. Afterwards will move right away with throttle application. Suspect clutch shoes are worn. As usual, they are obsolete. Anyone find aftermarket parts to fit? 90 Rival 125 parts look similar. Would like ...

1/8 inch thick plastic plate lasted an hour. Time for thicker 1/4 inch like everyone else uses.

Sport Variator Nut
For anyone who needs to know, the variant or nut is an M12 x 1.25. these threads are used by some import wheel studs. Tharen't that common, but Grainger carries chasers. The pitch info isn't in the Yamaha part number but major is.

Re: DIY Skid Plates?
The plate I fashioned is 17 inches wide and 1/8 inch thick. Adel clamps in four spots, should keep frame from getting damaged. The material is probably too thin to function as a skid plate.Wishing all this rain was snow

Re: Plastic Ski's Installed??? Has anyone
I put a set of skins on from a 1990 SRV. mods required were drilling new back hole to align with skag mount and straightening the transition up front a bit with a sledge. fits ok. front is held off a bit with exposed bar.

Re: Kick Start Fix
Cut a groove in. Assembled and put c ring on. Went together nice. If unable to cut groove, you may be able to use the kick start lever as the retainer, and use a stack of washers to take up the slack. It would be sort of a hack, but ought to work. Maybe if one of them was a wave washer, it would hel...

They have a cross bolt, and mine had a rubber covered foot peg.
Just ordered another from sno scoot.com aka Freedom cycles.

The back on mine is 13.25 inches from bolt center to bolt center, fronts are 13.5 inches OC.
I know this is way past original posting date, but having a body of knowledge on these would be very helpful.

Kick Start Fix
My Snosports kick start assembly broke at the bolt groove. The part is obsolete. A SnoScoot part tooth pattern doesn't match with the part images I saw. Did some digging around and bought a kick start assembly from a Razz scooter, pn 1YU-15601-00. The part drops right in as it has the same 15 mm sha...

DIY Skid Plates?
Look to make a skid plate for the new SnoSport. I have an old child car seat that is most likely polyethylene (slippery) and shaped about right, that I will cut to fit. Any hints on mounting and better material would be appreciated.
My Goal is to be able to say, it was made in 91, but looks current!
