Re: Looks like the Scoot is back.
They are, and they are a great sled. They are as fast as the 88-90 Scoots and the new Scoot climbs better. Like the old Scoots the new one does better with larger plastic skis on it.

Re: Scoot won't start
Either there is dirt in choke/enricher passage in carb or plunger/cable need to be adjusted. Assuming carb clean, then the cable needs to be adjusted. FYI, on my kick starts the kids had hard time starting them, so I put primers on them. Some of the kick start don't pull enough vac for proper fuel p...

Re: Price of scoots and spots new and how many made
Scoots in 1990 were selling for around $900. Dealers were having hard time getting rid of them. They came from Yamaha with kick start or electric and kick start (together). Electric start ran about $100 extra. You can put electric start on if you want too, but it will take some time and many new par...

Re: Scoot won't start
Is it a 1988 scoot? These carbs are different than the 1989's and 90's. They are harder to clean. I'd suggest drain fuel and clean carb one more time.

Re: NEED HELP ASAP! carb issue?
On the oil I can't say. For the amount they use I have always use Yamalube. On carb, I run a filter before the fuel pump also. I can get aftermarket fuel pumps fairly reasonable. Yamaha's fuel pump, you cannot get new gaskets. Usually if you take them apart the gasket tend to shrink. Does sound like...

Re: B6HS plug in snoscoot?
Yes, I would put correct BR8HS plug in it. If it does run lean with a hotter plug, good chance is you will melt or burn hole in piston. Running fine with the choke on? Something is wrong, more than likely dirt in carb. It is obvious that it is running too lean. Clean the carb.

Re: 89 Scoot fuel issue--wont rev up
The scoot carb should have one for sure maybe two rubber plugs/caps. If your does not have any, then I'd say the ruber plug material went through carb and probably has plugged up some jet holes. You do not need new jets, unless you ruin them when you remove them. All you need to do is make sure you ...
