Oil gas ratio for 69 220E

Does anybody know the oil gas mix ratio for a 69 kiekhaefer mercury 220E?

The owners manual calls for 50:1.

Hi Brian,

I was just looking through a 250 owners manual and they recomended a mix of 20:1 and not to use premium gas (not really sure why.) I'm not sure if this is the same for a 220, but it's a place to start.

This is interesting because the 220 I have was originally my dads and I remember him mixing it 20:1 but I bought an owners manual off ebay and it says 50:1 so now I really don't know what it should be. There is a hood assembly on ebay currently.

I had a closer look at the owners manual and 50:1 is recommended except in extreme conditions where they recommend 25:1. I mix mine somewhere in the middle. Should be able to go on the lean side with the newer oils but I start with 30:1 and add a little gas until I've reduced the smoking to a level I'm comfortable with. Teamhp, do you have a Merc, on the ACSCC site you only talk about Skidoos.
