I have the sno scoot (80 cc unit) running. BUT it will only run the choke on. Shutting off the choke, it will run for not quite 10 seconds then dies off like it ran out of gas.
I have the outside jet set correctly I believe and the float as well... I think so anyway. The main nozzle setting I am unsure of. Any help there?

Is an adjustment on the choke cable an issue with these. I am at a loss! I could really use a input/a source for the correct settings for all the jets, nozzles, etc on the carb but have not been able to find anything except for the main jet and float.

The ports on the carb throat have been cleaned and are clear. The carb has been cleaned very well... 3 times... like new or better now!

Any input would be appreciated! VERY frustated!

Thank you!

PutPut,

You still have some passage clogged. The "choke" is not a tradional choke but an enrichment device. It is allowing in the proper amount of fuel when on...so that means that with the enrichment closed the engine is not getting the right amount of fuel.

Soak it in Laquer thinner for an hour and then blow out the passages with compressed air (above 60 psi).

Hello Bill and others.

As it turns out the issue was with the choke adjustment. I started adjust the cable at the carb end and she started running better and better, it was that simple!

The carb was already cleaned several times, I kept going back to that and knew it was clean, likley better than when new!

The choke adjustment is a big deal on these thngs I guess!

Was the "choke stop" not seating or was in not raising?

Did you lengthen the cable or shorten the cable?

The adjustment was all the way forward, no threads exposed on the adj, it was this way from new. As I backed it off it started run longer & better. I ended about a 1/2" to 5/8" away from a closed adjustment. She runs like a top now.
