Look to make a skid plate for the new SnoSport. I have an old child car seat that is most likely polyethylene (slippery) and shaped about right, that I will cut to fit. Any hints on mounting and better material would be appreciated.
My Goal is to be able to say, it was made in 91, but looks current!
DIY Skid Plates?
Re: DIY Skid Plates?
I just used a 1/4" piece of plastic mounted at two points on the bumper and two rivets underneath the sled. Works wells to keep the front end out of the snow and from filling up with snow.

I was hoping to make another piece that is a bit wider and covers of bit of the a-arms.

Re: DIY Skid Plates?
The plate I fashioned is 17 inches wide and 1/8 inch thick. Adel clamps in four spots, should keep frame from getting damaged. The material is probably too thin to function as a skid plate.Wishing all this rain was snow
Re: DIY Skid Plates?
1/8 inch thick plastic plate lasted an hour. Time for thicker 1/4 inch like everyone else uses.
